Jalandhar, September 24, 2020: The research team of CT Group of Institutions, North Campus (Maqsudan), Navdeep Singh, Assistant Professor (ECE), CTITR developed a UVC based Disinfectant Lamp. This invention is based on Ultraviolet C light which deactivates the DNA of bacteria, virus and other pathogens and thus destroys their ability to multiply and cause disease.

Unlike harsh chemicals that are sometimes used in cleaning and sanitization products, this UV lamp is environmentally friendly because it is a physical process, not a chemical one. This UVC Disinfectant Lamp is widely used in hospitals and laboratories to sanitize instruments and work surfaces and to prevent the spread of potentially lethal airborne infectious diseases, Bacteria, Viruses. It is also used in food industry to sterilize food before packaging and water treatment systems.
