CT Group’s Research team develops Currency Disinfectant Safe “CoronaSafe” for Banks

CoronaSafe works on the principle of UVC rays which destroys the DNAs of the viruses

Jalandhar, June 8, 2020: After CoronaWave, the research team of CT Group of Institutions, North Campus (Maqsudan) led by Dr. Anurag Sharma, Principal, CT Institute of Technology and Research has developed a Currency Disinfectant Safe “CoronaSafe” especially for Banks. Dr. Sharma developed this safe along with Navdeep Singh, Assistant Professor, ECE and Maniraj, Student, M.Tech (ECE).

CoronaSafe is a safe for saving currency from deadly viruses like Corona Virus. Telling about it, Dr. Sharma said, “Money can carry viruses, protozoa, and bacteria. Depending on where it’s been, it could carry almost anything. For example, if you touch the money, then touch someone else’s hand; you can spread the germs to them. So, we thought of developing something beneficiary in this need of hour. Thus, CoronaSafe works on the principle of Ultra Violet-C rays (UVC) which destroys the DNAs of the viruses in few minutes. Attempting to clean the money is potentially feasible but much more complicated. We cannot wash it with water or liquid sanitizers; hence exposing currency to light is the best solution.”

Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Campus Director appreciated the efforts of team members and encouraged them to perform more research-based activities in future also.

Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group applauded the efforts made by the team for developing this Disinfectant amidst COVID -19 which can be used by people to reduce the risk of spreading this virus from currency.
